Memories is Out Now!

I’m so excited to release Memories into the world today. I can’t tell you how it feels to have a book release, I really can’t, so excuse me if I’m a little giddy!

I really loved writing this book. The characters are … well, I’ll let you judge for yourselves, but writing them and their story was just a joy. I love writing historical stories. I’m not sure what it is about the Regency era that excites me so much, perhaps it is the sense of change? The sense of a country poised on the brink of the industrial revolution, political and social upheaval? I don’t know, but I find the whole era absolutely fascinating. I read Georgette Heyer incessantly when I was younger so perhaps that has something to do with it. I adore her books. The manners, the wit, and the sheer gloriousness of the insults is utterly timeless.

If you look out for Signal Boost Promotions over the next few days you will be able to pop over to some wonderful blogs and take part in my giveaway. You can be in with a chance to win a £15 Amazon gift card! I will be blogging a little later in the week and who knows, I might do a giveaway on here too! Be sure to pop back.

Happy reading!!

It’s Cover Reveal Day!

Memories is my new book that will be released on the 26th August through the lovely JMS Books and today I want to share the cover. I really loved writing this one, and absolutely adore the characters, so I hope you will love them as much as I do. It is called Memories because both characters are desperately struggling with them. As the story unfolds it becomes clear that betrayal is an underlying theme that both men will have to deal with if they are going to get their happy ever after.

I’ll be sharing the blurb on social media, and popping up on a number of blogs with Signal Boost Promotions over the next few weeks, so look out for me! Also, I will be running a release giveaway so definitely keep an eye out for that and pop your name in the hat.  I will be doing some spot giveaways on social media too, so there will be plenty going on, and I’m always up for a chat so look me up on Facebook and Twitter and say hello.

Here is the beautiful book. Enjoy!!

RJ’s Annual Autism Blog Hop

Representation

It’s my turn to write about autism today as part of R.J. Scott’s fabulous blog hop. I’ve worked with young people with autism for a long number of years, and met some amazing people who have gone on to do amazing things. However, anyone with autism, or anyone who is close to someone with autism will know that things are rarely easy or straight forward.

Recently, there have been some wonderful stories from the m/m community with main characters who are autistic. I’ve read wonderful, positive representations of what it is like for someone with Asperger’s syndrome or autism to love and be loved. My favourites are, ‘Carry the Ocean’ by Eli Easton – I’ve not read the follow up book yet, but it’s definitely on my list, and ‘In the Absence of Light’ by Adrienne Wilder. Really different books, but I loved them both for the way that they portray autism in a positive way but without totally glossing over the fact that life is frequently difficult.

There have been some fantastic mainstream books, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time is probably the most famous, but I looked on Goodreads for some examples of books with autistic characters, and wasn’t overly surprised by some of them that came up. Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro was one I’d always thought had overtones of autism. Check this list out – I’m certainly going to read some of these.

I’m about to start reading Chris Packham’s book, ‘Fingers in the Sparkle Jar – a Memoir’ and it has had some stunning reviews, hitting the bestsellers lists immediately. I’ve grown up with Chris Packham on TV, and always thought he was amazing and didn’t realise until recently he was autistic, so I am really looking forward to reading it. http://tinyurl.com/myxvudu

As awareness about autism grows, and more and more people in the public eye identify as autistic, it gives more role models and better, broader representation of diversity.

What books have inspired you? What books would you recommend? Leave me a comment and at the end of May I will pick out someone at random and let them have an e-copy of my latest novel, Trapped.

Coming Soon!

I’m really excited to announce that my latest book is due out on the 11th March as an e-book, and then at the end of the month as a paperback!

Trapped is the latest of my Ruby Moone M/M Regency stories, and this time it is a full length novel. It can be read as a standalone, but is a sequel to The Wrong Kind of Angel that was released at Christmas 2016. You can catch up with Harry and Charlie, and find out whether or not Dante and Mosely got their comeuppance.

As a little bonus from me, if you buy the paperback, you will get a free copy of The Wrong Kind of Angel included in it at no extra charge!!

This is the blurb for Trapped…

Sam Holloway is a desperate man. Trapped in Dante’s, the high-class London brothel catering to men who love men, his only hope is to find a rich protector. Then he meets the young aristocrat with sad eyes.

Tristan Barrington, sixth earl of Chiltern, waited until the death of his father before acting on his unnatural desires. Dante’s has a reputation for quality and absolute discretion. He never expected to find in its sordid depths a glorious man who could master not only his body but his heart, as well.

In Tristan, Sam sees an opportunity to flee a life he hates, and he sets his sights on seducing the earl. Tristan vows to help him escape, but in the process not only uncovers the vile corruption at the heart of Dante’s but also suspects that Sam’s declaration of love was nothing but a lie.

Then Sam is gravely injured, and Tristan faces a tough decision — leave Sam to his fate, or help him once again?

Don’t you just love a Christmas romance?

the_wrong_kind_of_angel_400x600There is nothing nicer than tucking up over Christmas with a pile of holiday romances. I have mine ready, and I am hoping Santa might bring me some new snuggly pj’s too!

This year has been absolutely amazing for me. I have had three of my stories published with the lovely JMS Books, and this weekend my very own Christmas story came out which was just fabulous. I am so excited about this story! I loved writing Harry and Charlie, and once I have read through my pile of holiday books, and eaten the last of the turkey and mince pies, I will be putting the finishing touches to my new book. I hope to have this out in the new year. It is set in the same world as Harry and Charlie, and who knows…they might make a special appearance! There are a couple of threads to tie up from their story – it doesn’t affect the HEA, but just a little question hangs over the two of them and their happiness so you will be able to find out how it is all resolved.  I don’t have a title yet, or a book cover, but as soon as I do I will be posting details on here so keep an eye open for further information.

I hope you love Harry and Charlie as much as I do.

Here is the blurb…

A reluctant angel, three not terribly wise men, two gorgeous men on a starlit chase to find a child… It can only be Christmas.

Christmas 1817 and Captain Charles Farrington has accepted that he is destined to live alone. That is until Christmas Eve when a startlingly handsome man crashes into his home and his life.

Harry Valentine is a man on the run. A man with secrets. He hasn’t time to fall for the angel who rescued him and in any case, he knows that once Charlie realises the truth about him there could be no future for them.

Harry’s warmth makes Charles face up to the demons in his past, makes him see that he could have a family. All he has to do is persuade him to stay. But Charlie knows that despite what Harry says, he is the wrong kind of angel for happy endings.

Don’t Give Up!

Today my debut novelette, Fallen is released. It’s only short, but it’s my very first publication and I’ve got two more novelette’s coming over the next couple of months all published with JMS Books – you can see them under the ‘In Progress’ section of the blog. Like most writers this hasn’t just happened overnight, I’ve been writing a long, long time. I’ve gone through long spells where I haven’t written much at all, and some where I’ve been really productive. I’ve had rejections, loads of them, but I’ve just kept at it, working on stories whenever I could grab a moment. Earlier in the year I saw a submission call from JMS Books for ‘Hurt Heroes,’ and thought, what the heck! I squeaked my story in just inside the deadline and then got an email saying, ‘I’d like to offer you a contract.’ Just like that! I made my husband read it in case I was seeing what I wanted to see, but it was there. In black and white and if it can happen to me it can happen to anyone so never, ever give up!

Debut Novelette

fallen‘Fallen’ by Ruby Moone

My first novelette is due to be published on the 2nd of July 2016 by JMS Books. This is my first publication so I am pretty excited about it. It is 12,500 words long and is the story of two men who never dreamed they could be together.

Fallen is set in the winter following the battle of Waterloo that took place in June 1816. Here’s the blurb.

Major Oliver Thornley never expected to see the man who saved his life at the battle of Waterloo again. He certainly never expected to fall over him in the street. When Thornley stumbles over a pile of rags, he is horrified to discover it is the man who dragged him from the battlefield to safety.

Taking the man back to his Mayfair home, Thornley nurses Daniel back to health as he battles with his own forbidden desires. Then he learns Daniel shares his feelings, as well. Though it feels so right when they are in each other’s arms, Thornley knows their mutual secret could see them hang.

Is there a way for them to be together despite the class difference that separates them? Can he admit he’s fallen in love before Daniel leaves for good?
